Eat Well

Our healthy life starts form our healthy plate. The food pyramid was the major concept taught for students in schools usually in grade 5 but 2 years ago no food pyramid exists anymore, the new concept is the Healthy Plate. It represents all food items that should be presented in every meal since our body needs all the nutritive substances the food groups supply us with. The importance of this plate is its demonstration of the appropriate amount of items that should be eaten in a meal, for example eating high amouts of protiens is nessesary during breakfast because it is the main source of energy that energizes our body during the day.
Even if not taught in schools, I think that all mothers, should have an idea and know more about this healthy plate or "Eatwell plate" so that they would know more about food items that they should include in daily meals they prepare.

✿Meaning within a Rose✿

Few are the people who do not like to be given a rose or give it to someone else. Roses or flowers are a symbol of care, love and sympathy so whenever someone gives us a flower we feel that warm feeling, and even if they do not mean for us we feel happy and thankful for them.

We see flowers in weddings, funerals, festivals and most happy occasions. Roses inspire people, and that is why people used to symbolize roses according to their colors.

A pink rose represents gratitude and appreciation, when someone gives you a pink flower then he/she appreciate your friendship (but do not be upset if the one you love gave it for you when it was the only rose present).

A yellow rose sometime represents friendship, but also I have read that it represents "jealousy". When someone gives you a yellow rose, he/she would be saying in an indirect way that he/she cares a lot and wish to be always beside you.

An orange rose reveals enthusiasm and desire.

That is what I know about the meaning of roses according to their colors although meanings might change according to the kind of flower and every kind has its own special meaning.

For me a red rose and a white one would mean a lotJ

So choose a rose and gift it for others, a rose worth a lot even more than many other costing gifts.

While I was looking for some educational quotes, I was attracted by this one. Nowadays, at a time technology overwhelms the whole world and all fields of work and entertainment. We found ourselves as teachers affected greatly by it.

It occupies all homes, and students in general are highly influenced by it -mostly negatively- because they usually have the wrong choices in choosing how to use technology.  Although some teachers try to help and guide students to be wise in their choices in using the internet as an aspect of technology but students do not recognise the good aspects  and they are not interested in technology related to education.

Either if a person is a fan of technology or not, and even if the ultimate goal of the teacher is to teach for understanding using different learning methods but still the technology have a big role in being a part of these methods. Since students like technology in its all aspects as programs, software and resources (laptops, cameras, phones...) they would be feel that learning is more interesting when they use these resources in schools. so as teacheres we have to be wise in choosing the good resource, program and time and should know more about how to integrate technology in our teaching.

Mouse-mischief, bloggers, powerpoint presentations, microsoft  office, internet, webquests... are all technological programs and software that can be used effectively in class with students and never to forget that we can also give the opportunity for students to show us how they can use this technology in their education.

Technology is effective if used appropriately. So for all readers, whether teachers, students, parents or any... Be wise in your choices in using technology. Try to control it rather than making it control you.

I entered the kitchen and found my mom decorating a birthday cake for my sis.

"Mom, let me try, I can write on it in a special way"

And I tried and it worked and whenever my mom wanted to write on the cake, she called me to write the birthday wish with the whipping cream…

"mom, let me try to decorate it, I have a lot of ideas and can get more from the internet"

I tried and it worked and after several times,

"Mom, how can I bake a cake?"

So she gave me the recipe and I wrote it so that I don’t miss a step another time and day after day I became the one who bakes and decorates the cake for any occasion.

I enjoyed this more than anything else, I used to enter the kitchen, close the door and spend my time baking and decorating..

My passion to bake cake was not as that of decorating it because I felt that I can design the way I want and don't have to stick to a specific recipe. I search the net and became interested in everything related to desserts and cakes… started this thing 2 years ago and still enjoying it and still wishing to learn more dessert resipes…

One of the comments my biology instructor once gave to me when he saw the album on facebook was "I have one question for you. Why are you studying biology when you have such passion and talent for making amazing cakes? You should go to culinary school and open your own cake and pastry shop. You would be doing what you like and be making a killing.""

And my answer was "Dr I recognised that I have this talent and passion after I joined the uni and began studying biology but I guess it's never too late if i want to join a culinary school,,, maybe 1 day..:) Thanks!"

I wish to join a culinary school one day, just because I do love what I enjoy doing :)

Words Hurt...

When my heart writes few words....

When time is gone

and words seems to die,

u feel so empty deep inside.

قصة معبرة: من هو الأفضل بيننا

جلست إمرأة بيضاء البشرة بجانب رجل أسود في إحدى رحلات الطيران ..

وخلال دقائق استدعت مضيفة الطائرة وقالت:

"من الواضح أنك لا ترين الوضع الذي أنا فيه ،لقد أجلستموني بجانب رجل أسود ، وأنا لا أوافق أن أكون بجانب شخص مقرف ،يجب أن توفروا لي مقعداً بديلاً " !!

قالت لها المضيفة : "اهدئي يا سيدتي، دعيني أبحث عن مقعد خال"!

غابت المضيفة لعدة دقائق ثم عادت وقالت لها:

 "سيدتي، لم أجد مقعداً واحداً خالياً في كل الدرجة السياحية; لذلك أبلغت الكابتن فأخبرني أنه لا توجد أيضاً أي مقاعد شاغرة في درجة رجال الأعمال، لكن يوجد مقعد واحد خال في الدرجة الأولى الممتازة.."

وقبل أن تقول السيدة أي شيء ،أكملت المضيفة كلامها:

" ليس من المعتاد في شركتنا أن نسمح لراكب من الدرجة السياحية أن يجلس في الدرجة الأولى الممتازة، لكن وفقاً لهذه الظروف الاستثنائية فإن الكابتن يشعر أنه من غير اللائق أن نرغم أحداً أن يجلس بجانب شخص غير محترم لهذا الحد ، لذلك .."

والتفتت المضيفة نحو الرجل الأسود ...

"سيدي، هل يمكنك أن تحمل حقيبتك اليدوية وتتبعني، فهناك مقعد ينتظرك في الدرجة الأولى الممتازة" !!!

في هذا اللحظة وقف الركاب المذهولين الذين كانوا يتابعون الموقف منذ بدايته وصفقوا بعضهم للمضيفه لتأديبها الغير مباشر للسيدة البيضاء!!
